As Head of Content for Yummly.com and the Yummly mobile app, I built Yummly’s content function from the ground up. Starting as Content Team member #1, I built and executed a content strategy that drove a 12,000% increase in article pageviews over the next six years.

I was the sole content strategist on this interactive microsite that features videos, interactive infographics, articles and more. This was a client-facing role where I also created the content, including working directly with the site-dev team (an outside vendor) and the film crew.

I worked on an agile dev team, creating ecommerce site District West from the ground up. I designed the site's tone and voice, produced site copy, and was managing editor of the blog, including blogger recruitment and oversight of the social team.

When tronc/Tribune Publishing purchased the San Diego Union-Tribune, I was called in to help combine two of the Union-Tribune's properties: PACIFIC Magazine and DiscoverSD.com. I recommended site org, SEO tactics, content strategy, and staffing choices for the new PacificSanDiego.com.

An article about the best dosas (crispy Indian crepes) in Los Angeles that I wrote for LA Weekly (byline of Ruth Welte is my maiden name). Photographs also mine with one exception (see credits). Mindy Kaling retweeted this article. So, that's amazing.

An interactive microsite with an editorial feel. Includes slideshows, a quiz, longform article content, videos and photography.

A series of infographics and articles designed to offer helpful shopping tips to potential ALDI customers. Note that I came up with the idea, pitched it to the client, wrote the infographic text, assigned the illustration to an artist, and worked through edits and content launch with the client, but I did not do the design/illustration work.

When LA's Deputy Mayor for Education became CEO of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, I interviewed her and wrote a profile piece for LA School Report (byline of Ruth Welte is my maiden name).

I directed a team of 20 on-site music writers and photographers and five off-site web producers to create Chicago's most extensive Lollapalooza coverage in real time, garnering record traffic for TimeOutChicago.com. I ran coverage for Lollapalooza 2011 and 2012, as well as for the Pitchfork Music Festival both years.
